the 2025 mercury prize saw an exceptional array of records from the past year be nominated for the esteemed award - yet only one was able to take it home.

After an incredible year of music - with outstanding records and more unbelievable live performances than one could ever wish for - the Mercury Prize crowned its ultimate winner on Thursday night. However, the other 11 nominees still deserved to be complemented and showcased in the spotlight for their impeccable efforts in music over the last year.

After an exceptional year of touring a multitude of countries and his most ambitious venues yet - Sam Fender spent his 2025 performing his incredible third record ‘People Watching’ for adoring fans across the world.

The record comes after a 4 year hiatus from the Geordie frontman, allowing space for time and reflection and (most importantly) quality to be poured into his latest offering.

Collaborating with artists like The War On Drugs, Elton John, Olivia Dean and CMAT throughout the People Watching era - this album shows maturity, quality, talent and promise like no other.
